How Did I Make It?

I frequently get asked the question, how did I make it? Some of you have possibly been a couple of the randoms who have hit me up on Facebook, and Twitter ( that’s the only guess I have for the rise in questions), but I’m here to clear a few things up. The number one thing I can share with you guys is to get your hustle on. The reason I made money and became a success was because every day, I woke up, and felt blessed that God gave me another day to hustle my balls off. I understood somewhat how the economy worked, I also knew that it took some money, to capitalize on that money, and make fat gains. I set my sights on the rich life and wanted to get there. I had such a strong burning desire in my heart to make it the happy life, that good good life. I also saw my momma in the sky when I would look up and ask God for some inspiration. Just about every time, my brain would create a picture of my momma in different moods. Sometimes she would be smiling at me for the hard work that I have been putting in that day, and I felt she was proud of me. Sometimes though, when I was slacking a little bit, I would look into the sky and see she had a look of disappointment upon me. I knew, and she knew when I could have been working harder and when I could have been more focused on the goals that I had set out to accomplish. I always knew the number one goal I had in life was to help my mom back in Somalia live a happy life, and particularly one of good fortune.

Having actually experienced the poor life that many Somalians succumb too, including theft, killing, rape, sickness, drugs, and just bad deeds all around horrified me. I actually was able to see the detrimental way of life that people were living in and their way out, which was non-existent. I told myself I did not want to live like them anymore. I did not want to have be put in that situation ever. For my family, for myself, for my future children, I needed to make a name for myself so I could make a serious difference in my family’s life.

Basically, the whole way I made it was through inspiration. I as inspired to seriously do it and succeed. I watched this movie on the plane ride to the United States. It was called the Secret. It was probably the most inspiring movie that I have ever seen in my entire life. The movie, the Secret was about imagining where you want your life circumstance to be. Everyday, spend a few minutes with your eyes closed, meditating what life will be like when you have succeeded at the particular thing that you want to succeed at. The secret is, to consistently imagine it, and practice what you imagine, and one day, it will happen. If you are constantly thinking about where you want to be in life, the cosmos will put you down the path of success. The universe follows the rules of what the inhabitants of it believe. If you believe that one day you will dunk a basketball. Then, every day, sit down, and imagine what it would be like to have your arms above the hoop, holding the basketball way above it, and then forcefully smashing it through the net and falling back to the surface of the Earth with a sense of accomplishment.

What I want to share with you all is that anything that you want can be accomplished with belief, passion, dedication, and of course, the work. You will not accomplish anything by sitting on your tush watching sitcom reruns day in day out and hoping for your life to get better. Everything good comes with work attached to it in behind the curtain. I would regularly work 14 hour days just because I knew that’s what it would take to be successful. When I wasn’t working, I would be working on my body, my brain, whatever it took to just continue to become a better person.Like I said, much of the accomplishment comes with belief, and working on your mental capacity, but to truly get successful, it’s all about the work ladies and gentleman.

Another thing I want to share with you is what you cannot do while you are trying to become successful. No TV watching, the media is bullshit, you are not getting anything that is going to better your life by watching tv. Yeah, maybe you will get a couple laughs, you maybe you might learn something, but you can accomplish much more in both those areas by using the internet instead.

Your social lives. You cannot be out partying every weekend, hoping that one day you are just gonna make it. Too many people I know spend every day socializing for the entirety of the day, then go work their 40 hour a week job just like 99% of the rest of the world. There is a reason capitalism works. Because the rich people want to not have to work and collect money, and the poor people are fine with working as long as they get their precious socializing hours and tv watching time. This is my strongest piece of advice. Many of the most ambitious people are very social, and that’s how we are as humans. But the tv and the videogames is pointless. Stay away from that crap if you want to be successful. Get away from browsing social media on your smart phone. That is a waste of time too.  Figure out what is wasting your time in life and cut it out.
